Ok..so I'm not so good at blogging.

What's gone on this past year.

Well a lot of things...some of which I will keep to myself.

I have started the MA program in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at CSUN. I started January 2008 and I should finish June of 2009.

I did Students Run LA with Santee and that was an awesome experience.

Still living here in Echo Park with Steve.

Starting my second year at Santee.

Bjork in MEXICO!!!

So Bjork is officially scheduled to perform in MEXICO!!!! Her website posted this today. She is to perform in Huentitan Canyon, Guadalajara, Mexico, on December 8th, 2007. I'm not familiar with Huentitan Canyon or Guadalajara, so I have no idea what to expect. I believe it's a huge park in Guadalajara, and their zoo might be located in the Huentitan Canyon as well. Venues? I have no idea. I also read, on another site, that this will be part of a music festival, and that Ratatat will also be performing. Can't wait. I want to go to Mexico to see bjork! I hope she performs in Mexico City as well. Que viva Bjork y Mexico!!!

Another month flies by....

So it's been more than a month since I've lasted posted anything here. I'm just not good at this.

WEll what's happened? I suppose lots, but I'm not gonna write about everything. Hmmmm, I saw Peter Bjorn and John in concert. I saw Margaret Cho's new production, Sensuous Women.

Oh...here's something exciting, at least for myself. I'm starting up Students Run LA at my high school along with another teacher. We're both really excited about the prospect of training high school students for the marathon. WE've got about 40 students that have expressed interest, and next Wednesday is the first test of this committment, as we have our first informational meeting. We're going to start training after school on September 10th. SRLA (via the high school teachers/coaches) trains students to run the Los Angeles Marathon. It's going to be a great year with these students, and I'm really looking forward to it.

I'm moving. After a year and a half in some not so nice apartment in Echo Park, I'm moving to another place that has more lighting and even some nice views. I'm actually just moving less than a mile away. I'll now be across from the lake in Echo Park. It's my friends condo and I'll be renting a room from him, but since we're friends it should be fun. I'm not anticipating any problems. It's a temporary thing, as I hope to eventually buy my own condo or something.

Madison Square Garden and NYC here I come...

so I bought my plane ticket today for my trip to NYC in late September. I'm flying JetBlue, as it was a fairly cheap ticket...just a bit over $300 for the roundtrip flight. I have a red eye flight out of Burbank airport on Friday night, the 21st of September, and I have a return flight scheduled for Tuesday morning, the 25th of September. So basically I'll be in the city for 3 full days and 3 nights. I'm going for bjork so no worries that it's a short trip. Plus, I can't take too many days off of work.

It's the start of the weekend! Today after work I'm off to Casita del Campo in Silverlake to meet up with my friends from King. How I miss them! Valerie, Leila, Rebecca, Silvia, Amanda, John, Susan and others should be there. Woohoo! I think I might get a bit tipsy this afternoon. One can only hope!

Tomorrow I have a professional development workshop at 8am. We meet at Hollywood High School for 2 hours then head off to the Huntington Museum and Garden in the Arcadia area. Joining me will be Valerie and Rebecca. Leila cancelled :(

Hmmmmm. I'm loving my new high school. The students are awesome. It's just a wonderful feeling to be in a place where you know you're connecting with the students, and having a positive impact on their lives.

Bjork @ the Madison Square Garden in NYC

So tickets went on pre-sale yesterday for Bjork's upcoming performance at New York City's Madison Square Garden. Although I live in Los Angeles, I thought I'd try getting a good seat for this performance...considering she's not scheduled to perform in Los Angeles for this leg of the tour. So I show up to work just a bit before 7am local time, and immediately log onto her website. The tickets were scheduled to go on sale at 10am NYC time, 7am LA time. So I log on and wait anxiously for the release of tickets, and as soon as 7am hits, I get a ticket. To my amazement, I get a General Admission PIT ticket. WOOHOO!! Voltalicious!!! It's voltagasmic!!!! I could not believe it. How could this be? After receiving the confirmation email, I finally realized that yes...I really did get this ticket. So I was on a bjork high all day yesterday. Still am in fact. I am super excited and can't wait till the evening of September 24th. It will be my first concert experience at the Garden.

Another long absence ends...

So it's been forever and a day since I've posted anything here. I'm not a very good blogger. I guess I just get busy and it's never been a priority.

I've started teaching at a new high school near downtown LA. It's going really well. I enjoy the students tremendously. I teach World History, US History and Economics.

I miss my friends at King MS, but we will manage to stay in contact and come together as often as possible.

Bjork's returning to the states in the fall to do a few more shows in support of Volta. Unfortunately I'm on track and she's not performing on the west coast. Presale tickets go on sale tomorrow for these shows, and I'm still debating whether or not to get a ticket for her Madison Square Garden NYC show in September. I could stay with my friend in NYC.

I've also read in an interview that she may tour South America. I'm guessing that she will do a show in Mexico. That would be awesome. I'd love to see her in Mexico City or Monterrey. Let's see if this happens. Yes, I know Mexico is not in SOuth AMerica...but many people say South America and they mean all of Latin America. Just like when people say NOrth America they usually are referring to just the US and possibly Canada, not realizing that Mexico is part of North America. We'll just have to wait and see.

I'm trying to run or go to the gym and lift weights 3 or 4 times a week. My friend Maria wants to run the LA Marathon in March of 2008 and I'm hoping to train with her. It would be a great accomplishment.

What's on the tube: Bravo! Top Chef, Hey Paula, Kathy Griffin: My life on the D List. Those are my shows at the moment. Waiting for another season of Project Runway.

Music: Joan as Policewoman, the Knife, Jose Gonzalez, Peter, Bjorn and John.
